I was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and lived in C. Springs until Viet Nam came knocking on the door; I had just turned18 years old. Up until
the war, I had been working as a electrician for a few years with my Dad and was planning to obtain my Journeyman Electrical license.

Before Viet Nam, I had been learning how to play the piano and the 5 string banjo. I had already been playing the guitar since I was 14. I kept picking and grinning through Viet Nam when time permitted. After Viet Nam, I played rhythm guitar with a few local bands (made of mostly somewhat questionable friends who claimed I COULD NOT sing, nor carry a tune in a bucket – some nerve they had!!). Now that I think about it, they were probably close to being right. We had no intention of making a music career; we were just out for the party and to meet the ladies.

I went on to become an electrical contractor and did that for more years than I want to remember. It was around 1995 I met Terry Peacock, owner of Grayfield Corporation www.grayfield.com. We became immediate friends and have remained close ever since.  After a year or two, he kept talking to me about starting an independent record label. So finally, Graystone Records was born.

Back in the early days with Terry and the rest of the music scene, I could not quite figure out exactly what my role was supposed to be; but now since we are growing into quite a productive record label, I still haven’t quite figured out just what I’m supposed to do. Terry and the rest of the label staff keep on telling me ‘just keep doing what you’re doing’ - Only wish I knew just what I am supposed to be doing………..
